Evaluation for academic year 2015
Main project progression:
For the main project I was able to get the game playable with basic gameplay. This included having a full working camera can rotate and zoom in as well as having a fully integrated user interface which shows player resources and is well a list of tie was the place can spawn. There are only two types of towers currently one of the towers can shoot at the enemy AI and the other gathers resources for the player. There are also a basic enemy AI that simply walk to the players towers then return to the spawn points and repeat until they are destroyed. This creates as simple playable game this is where the main project is currently.
Research report progression:
The full research report paper has been fully completed with 4800 words talking about early access. I've also conducted research into many high-profile early access games and gathered research on how they third in the financial and communal regards. As well as conducted research into looking into the average player basis with these games and how they changed over the game's lifespan.
Learning outcome milestones:
Main project:
in the learning outcome for the main projects I said that I would have playable version of the game and also conduct player testing sessions. But due to setbacks I was unable to get play sessions as the game was not playable. This means I fall behind my learning outcome schedule will have to do conduct more play sessions when returning from the Christmas break in order to catch up with my schedule.
Research report:
For the research report I fully finished the dissertation as well as finished all the intended research already for submission
Personal opinion on the year:
For this year I felt the it was a lot more difficult due to the workload of brief working on a main project a research report and mini briefs in between I also felt that my attendance this year was very poor this is mostly my own fault and something I wish to change the following year in order to get feedback and keep up-to-date with events happening on the course. overall I feel very positive coming to the end of the year I'm confident that I will be ready for submission in January.
